For Sonder Impact’s first Fireside Chat of 2023, we’re honored to be sitting down with Olamide Olowe, past winner of Sonder Impact’s Black Business Pitch Competition, and Founder and CEO of Topicals, one of the fastest-growing skincare brand that is transforming the way we look at skincare through effective science-backed products and mental health advocacy.

During Sonder Impact’s 4Q 2018 Black Business Pitch Competition, Olamide, at the time a student at UCLA, pitched Topicals and came in first place. Two years later, Topicals officially launched.

Since then, Olamide has gone on to become the youngest Black woman ever to raise $10 million in funding, and was included in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for 2002 for her previous fundraise of $2.6 million. With Topicals, not only is Olamide setting a new standard in beauty, but also destigmatizing the way consumers perceive their skin-related conditions.
